World capital of the 19th century, Walter Benjamin.

I travelled to Paris for the first time in 2005. My photographs document the expedition trough Paris: croped townscapes, which reflect the impressions during my walking tours trough Paris. The observations I made focus on the urbane space Paris, where characteristics of contemporary architectural stylistic devices from the present and past can be found. The images present city architecture and foreigner's consideration. By cropping the townscapes strongly and disregarding sights, a new place is created, which must nonconstraining be recognized as Paris in France. It could be a capital somewhere in western europe.

The work is conceived as a book.
